'Our aims include advancing the development of the Marina Industry in Queensland; to encourage best practice management; to aid in the handling of environmental, government and industry regulations; to encourage marketing and promotion of our members marinas; to educate and protect the industry from unfair criticism and unfair regulation; and to be an influence on government policy for the benefit of the industry.'
Key issues that the division is currently involved with include:

- Ensuring seabed lease rentals and charges remain in line with
industry standards so that long term investment is encouraged.
- Reduction in the lead-time and complexity of the approvals process.
- Gaining government recognition and action for an ongoing program of general maintenance dredging in key areas.
- Improve government and community perceptions of the benefits of marinas.
- Evaluation of leasehold as a suitable entity for the marina industry.
