Marine Mechanic

Innisfail Marine is an authorised Mercury and Stihl Dealership.  We service/repair all types of outboards, outdoor power equipment and mowers.  We are one of the top Mercury dealers in Australia and have just been nominated Stacer Qld Dealer of the Year.

Innisfail is situated approximately 90Km south of Cairns in the centre of the Cassowary Coast.  We have the closest mainland access to the Great Barrier Reef and have great fishing, camping, boating, bushwalking, water skiing and lots of other outdoor activiites.

The position is for a qualified Marine Mechanic (preferably with Mercury Experience / Training).  The option to move into a workshop supervisory role will be given to the right person in the future.  The position reports directly to the owner/manager.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • working on a wide variety of engines (service and repair) and diagnosing problems;
  • the ability to speak with customers is essential
  • good time management
  • paperwork skills (e.g. completing job cards, booking out parts to jobs etc.).

We have a very busy workshop and are a versatile, easy going team.

The position will require ongoing (paid) training to keep up with the latest technologies.  The salary is negotiable for the right person dependant on experience/qualifications.  We offer a permanent, full time, varied job that is never dull!

 Sailing Administrator

Established in 1946, Southport Yacht Club is known worldwide for its extraordinary sailing and motor yacht fraternities, award winning boating facilities and its incomparable exclusive waterfront dining.  With the refurbishment in 2007 they have seen industry leading growth at teh club and now have an exciting opportunity fo a new member to join our sailing division.

The role is all encompassing across two venues, accessible by land or water and involves the daily tasks focused on Keel Boats and Offshore events supplemented with In-shore events for Trailer Sailors, OTB Mutlihull and other classes.  There will be a level of hands on training and development of new sailors.

You will have full autonomy in this role with excellent support from senior managemetn and committee members.

To be successful you will have a passion for sailing, ideally with a background in event administration. You will need strong organisational skills, good communication skills and a drive to work through the many interesting scenarios that you will encounter each day.  You will also have a boat licence and other industry accreditations.

Operations Manager
